Master Rob Librandi, Head Instructor
Master Rob Librandi has dedicated more than 30 years to the martial arts, beginning his Tang Soo Do training at just 8 years old in Oxford, Connecticut. By his teenage years, he had earned his first and second-degree black belts and became one of the school’s primary instructors.
While attending Central Connecticut State University, Master Librandi trained with the Cheezic Tang Soo Do College Karate Team, earning numerous first-place and Grand Champion awards in point sparring, forms, and weapons. He completed his college point-fighting career with an impressive four-year undefeated record.
Master Librandi continued teaching and developing his martial arts skills in Oxford and Trumbull and earned his 5th Degree Master Belt in 2020 through the Cheezic Tang Soo Do Federation. He was one of the final students to test in front of the late Grand Master Cheezic.
Today, Master Librandi remains an active competitor and has established himself as one of the most accomplished power breakers in the sport. He is a 3-Time World Power Breaking Champion with the International Sport Karate Association (ISKA) and has been featured on ESPN.
His accomplishments include winning the Black Belt Magazine “Break Boards Not Hearts” Breaking Challenge, where his performance video went viral with more than one million views.
Master Librandi was selected to represent the United States Martial Arts Team at the World Games in 2023, where he won four Gold Medals and the Ultimate Breaker Championship. In 2024, he was promoted to Regional Coach for the U.S. Martial Arts Team, helping establish Trumbull Academy of Karate as one of the few registered U.S. Martial Arts Team training centers in the Northeast.
In 2025, Master Librandi returned to the World Games in Oslo, Norway, where he once again captured the Ultimate Breaker Championship, becoming a two-time Ultimate Breaker champion.
Outside of martial arts, Master Librandi serves as the Town Planner for the Town of Trumbull, where he lives with his wife, Jessica, and their two daughters, Sidney and Millie.
His mission is simple: to develop confident, disciplined, respectful martial artists while continuing to push the limits of what is possible.
