Master Rob Librandi, Head Instructor
Master Rob Librandi has been training in the Martial Art of Tang Soo Do for over 30
years. He started his martial arts training at the age of 8 years in Oxford, CT where he
received his first and second degree black belt in his teenage years and became one of
the main instructors of the studio. He received his Bachelor’s Degree at Central
Connecticut State University where he trained with the Cheezic Tang Soo Do College
Karate Team. In college he received numerous first place and grand champion awards
for point sparring, forms and weapons. He retired from college point fighting with a
four year undefeated winning streak. Since then he has been an assistant instructor to
schools in Oxford and Trumbull. He received his 5 th Degree Master Belt in 2020 in
under The Cheezic TangSoo Do Federation as one of the last students to test in front
of the late Grand Master Cheezic.
As of late Master Librandi still competes and has won numerous power breaking
competitions and has been ranked in the International Sport Karate Association as #1
in the US and #3 in the World for Power Concrete. He also won the Black Belt
Magazine Breaking Challenge “Break Boards not Hearts” where his video went viral.
He was recently recruited to join The US Martial Arts Team and Compete At the
World Games in July of 2023 where he won The “ULTIMATE BREAKER” Title for
winning 4 Gold Medals. in April of 2024 he was promoted to a Regional Coach for the US Martial Arts Team
​Making Trumbull Academy the only registered Training Center for the US Martial Arts Team in the North East.
He is currently the Town Planner for the Town of Trumbull where he lives with his
wife Jessica and 2 daughters Sidney and Millie
Instructor Adam Chiara
Adam Chiara is a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, a 1st degree black belt in Tang Soo Do, and has trained in Zen Budokai Jujitsu and kickboxing.
As a life-long competitor in point-sparring tournaments, he has fought in the Collegiate Martial Arts Northeast Conference, the U.S. Open, the I.P.P.O.N.E tournament circuit, and many others.
When he's not training, he's either teaching at the University of Hartford or spending time as a proud father of his two children.
Prof. Thales De Oliveira Mota
Prof. Thales is a personalized and high quality Jiu-Jitsu practitioner with a focus on training suiting each student and their skill level and goals ensuring their safety and progress. His training and lineage comes straight from Brazil to Trumbull.
Thales will be teaching a beginner Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class on Tuesday and Thursday nights to ages 14 and up.
